While the NFF has already extended their condolences to the Chippa United star, they have also revealed that he will not feature against Rwanda. However, he will be present in the stands to cheer on his teammates.

This was confirmed by Dayo Enebi, the Super Eagles Team Administrator, in a statement published on the official website of the Nigerian Federation Friday.

The statement read:

“He has been excused from the game. However, the player will come to watch the match and cheer his teammates on.”

In Nwabali’s absence, interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen will be left to choose between Amas Obasogie and Maduka Okoye, with the latter being given an opportunity to prove himself once again.

The Udinese goalkeeper has not played for the Super Eagles since his costly mistake against Tunisia in the 2021 AFCON.
