While acknowledging his immense talent, the former Liverpool star criticized the midfielder for failing to live up to his potential.

“If I were a Premier League manager, there are no circumstances under which I would take a punt on bringing in Paul Pogba,” Souness stated.

“He’s only played 39 games since the 2021/22 season. He is extremely talented, but he’s a wasted talent.”

Graeme Souness suggested that Pogba’s career faltered after France’s World Cup victory in 2018, claiming that the triumph marked a turning point.

“The worst thing that happened to him was winning the World Cup because, from that point on, he just sat in his armchair,” he added.

With questions surrounding Pogba’s fitness, consistency, and motivation, Souness’s remarks highlight the skepticism facing any potential return to the Premier League for the controversial midfielder.
