His performances were widely praised, making his exclusion a surprising decision for many football fans.
Victor Boniface is DISAPPOINTED
Speaking in an interview with the BBC’s Oluwashina Okeleji, Boniface admitted his disappointment but maintained a level-headed perspective.
“Of course, I’m disappointed not being shortlisted. If it’s based on what I did last season, I should feel disappointed, but I don’t stress about it,” he said.
When asked to share his choice for the award, Victor Boniface didn’t hesitate to show support for his compatriot.
“If I’m to pick the winner, it would be Lookman 100 per cent,” he said, adding with a smile, “And if I were there, I would pick myself.”
Despite the snub, Boniface’s performances continue to speak for themselves, solidifying his reputation as one of Africa’s rising football stars.
