Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri has given his opinion on the age-long ‘Greatest of all time” debate as he reveals his pick between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Rodri, who is the current Ballon d’Or winner,
has stated that Messi is the greatest player of all time.
For the first time since 2003, neither Messi nor Ronaldo appeared on the 30-player shortlist. Despite this, both players continue to command reverence, with their rivalry defining football for over two decades.

Rodri picks Messi as GOAT
Rodri, however, has tilted in favour of the Inter Miami star, calling him the greatest of all time.
Speaking to El Hormiguero, Rodri said,
“Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time, without a doubt. Cristiano has managed to match Messi without [the same] natural talent. But those of us who have played against them can see the difference.
“We didn‘t want Cristiano to step into the box because he was lethal there. But with Messi, the danger was everywhere on the pitch.”
Rodri has been ruled out since sustaining a cruciate ligament injury during Manchester City‘s early-season Premier League clash against Arsenal. As he aims to get back on the field of play, the midfielder will focus on recovery.
