Bendel Insurance Confirms Coach Resignation
The statement confirmed that Odigie tendered his resignation after the team’s 3-2 defeat to Rangers on Sunday.
“We will be playing against Kwara United on Saturday without Coach Monday Odigie. He submitted his resignation letter following our loss to Rangers,” the notice read.
The club added that the matchday 13 fixture would be played behind closed doors, adhering to NPFL directives.
Odigie’s resignation comes amid a challenging season for Bendel Insurance FC, who currently sit near the bottom of the league table with just nine points from 12 games.
The once-promising side has struggled to replicate their earlier successes, leading to growing frustration among fans and the coaching staff.
Efforts to confirm the resignation with the club’s media officer, Kehinde Osagiede, were unsuccessful, and attempts to reach Odigie for comments also went unanswered.
As the team prepares for its next fixture without their head coach, all eyes are on the club’s management to address the challenges and chart a path forward.
