Sevilla head coach García Pimienta has revealed how best to use Kelechi Iheanacho in what could be seen as a message to Super Eagles interim coach Augustine Eguavoen.
Iheanacho has performed below par in recent times for the Nigerian national team, including during a 2-1 defeat against Rwanda in the final game of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The former Leicester City man, who had previously claimed that his preferred position is as a number 10, was once again played in an attack by national team head coach Eguavoen against Rwanda, and he failed to impress.

Pimienta on Iheanacho’s position
While Iheanacho has also struggled with Sevilla following his free transfer move in the summer, manager Pimienta has claimed he has discovered the perfect position for the Nigerian.
Ahead of his team’s La Liga encounter against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, Pimienta recognized the idea of starting Iheanacho on the wings during the pre-match press conference on Friday.
He did stress, though, that the Nigerian striker is not the best person for that role.
“We have Lukebakio, Jesús, Suso,” Pimienta was quoted as saying by Sevilla’s official website..
“Isra has got a shoulder injury. Iheanacho played there in the last match and did well despite it not being his natural position. We can use Peque or Barco.
“We can adapt to play differently depending on who plays. We are not going to make excuses and whoever plays will contribute.”
The forward will now hope for a chance to show the coach how valuable he is by making an impression against Rayo Vallecano.
