Ruud Van Nistelrooy has come up as a top candidate to take up the Leicester City job.
The former Manchester United assistant coach is tipped to replace Steve Cooper, who was sacked by the East Midlands outfit following a 2-1 home loss to Chelsea on Saturday, leaving them in 16th place with 10 points after 12 games.
Van Nistelrooy is currently unattached after being relieved of his duties at United following the arrival of new manager Ruben Amorim, who brought in his own backroom staff.
During his short stint as interim manager of the Red Devils, the Dutchman led the team to two wins and a draw, including back-to-back vitories against the Foxes.

Van Nistelrooy to replace Steve Cooper
He is now favourite to replace Cooper, with Leicester hoping to reverse their fortunes.
Nistelooy had previously managed PSV Eindoven, helping the Dutch giants win the domestic cup in 2023, before moving to assist Eric Ten Hag at United at the beginning of the 2024-2025 campaign.
However, their partnership was cut short as a poor start for the Red Devils saw the dismissal of the former Ajax boss, leaving Nistelrooy to step in as interim manager.
Despite his success during his short stint, he eventually left the club as Amorim made it clear he would prefer to work exclusively with his own team.
