Just a day after his 17th birthday, Obi-Martin’s professional contract officially commenced, fulfilling a deal initially signed as a scholarship.

His contributions on the field reflected the momentous occasion, with the striker converting a 71st-minute penalty to break the deadlock.

Obi-Martin drew the foul himself, skillfully getting past defender Pijus Otegbayo to win the spot-kick. Calm and composed, he sent the Stoke goalkeeper the wrong way to find the back of the net.

This goal marked his second consecutive scoring appearance for United’s U18s, underlining his growing consistency.
