Kylian Mbappe has responded to rape allegations linked to his trip to Sweden during an international break earlier this season.
The French star, sidelined by injury, skipped France duty and travelled to Stockholm to focus on his recovery. However, while he was there, reports emerged of a rape investigation involving a hotel where he stayed, prompting speculation in the Swedish media.
Despite no official names being attached to the case, Mbappe was linked to the incident. He and his legal team dismissed the claims as “slanderous,” firmly denying any involvement.

What Kylian Mbappe said
Speaking on Canal+ show Clique, the Real Madrid forward expressed shock over the accusations.
“I was surprised. These are things that happen that you don‘t see coming. I didn‘t receive anything, no summons,” he said, as quoted by Daily Mail.
“I read likeeverybodyelse. The Swedish government saidnothing. Iam not worried.
“It wasnotweighing on me because I have never felt concerned. Thereis a lot of noise, but I always had the same intention:to focus on my job and see how it turns out. If justice calls methen I will just go.”
Kylian Mbappe explained that he had been advised to go to a quieter destination for his break.
“It wasn‘t even a night out. I had five days off, I decided to leave. I was supposed to go somewhere else, but the coach told me to go somewhere less exposed.
“It‘s going well, I‘m relaxed. Before leaving, there‘s this photo of me leaving the restaurant. There were lots of people ready to welcome me for the departure, lots of journalists.”
He added,
“When I got on the plane, I received the news. I have no idea who [the complainant] is.”
Despite an awesome start this season in Real Madrid, missing two penalties in defeats against Liverpool and Athletic Club, Mbappe seems back to work after netting three goals in his last four LaLiga games with Carlo Ancelotti.
