Mikel Arteta has expressed his delight at seeing Alex Iwobi excel at Fulham.
The Super Eagles midfielder has been in red-hot form this season, contributing to eight goals in 15 appearances for the Cottagers, including five in his last five games.
His streak included assists against Crystal Palace and Tottenham, as well as three goals against Wolves and Brighton. Last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal was the only game in which he failed to contribute.
Despite firing blanks against the Gunners, Iwobi played a pivotal role in earning a hard-fought point for Marco Silva’s men.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who left Arsenal to join Everton in 2019 for £34 million, later moved to Fulham, where he appears to be enjoying some of the best football of his career.
Having risen through Arsenal’s ranks, Iwobi graduated to the senior team in 2015, scoring 11 Premier League goals in 100 appearances before his transfer to Everton.
After spending three seasons with the Toffees and tallying six EPL goals in 126 appearances, he moved to Fulham, where he has achieved a much better scoring ratio, scoring 10 top-flight goals in just 45 appearances.

What Arteta said about Iwobi
Arsenal boss Arteta recently stated that he always recognised the Nigerian’s talent.
“I always liked him a lot. I thought that he had tremendous talent and a very special quality. He has the capacity to play in different spaces and positions. I’m really happy to see him performing at this level,” the Spanish manager said, as quoted by Metro Uk.
It is worth noting that Arteta, who played for the Gunners from 2011 to 2016, captained the team at some point during his spell and played alongside Iwobi during the 2015-2016 season before retiring at the end of that campaign.
