Borussia Dortmund have issued a robust response to allegations questioning Youssoufa Moukoko’s age, following claims made by Joseph Moukoko, the registered father of the young German forward.
Allegations of Age Fraud
In a previous report from Sports Buddy, a shocking revelation from Joseph Moukoko alleged that Youssoufa’s age was falsified to enhance his prospects in European football.
He claimed, “Youssoufa Moukoko is not the biological son of me and my wife, Marie Moukoko, nor was he born on November 20, 2004.
He was actually born on July 19, 2000. We made him four years younger.”
This revelation, if true, means the forward, currently on loan at Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, would be 23 years old, rather than 20.
Joseph admitted to the deception, stating the move was made to help the player access better opportunities in European football.

Dortmund’s Firm Denial
Borussia Dortmund were quick to respond to the controversy, releasing a statement via Sky Sports Germany:
“In the case of Youssoufa Moukoko, the biological parents and the date of birth are derived from official identification documents and birth certificates issued by a German authority.
“These documents are still valid today and are the basis for playing authorisations and permits for clubs, regardless of whether they are domestic or foreign, and of course also for association teams such as the German U21 national team.”
The club emphasized that Moukoko’s records remain in line with German legal standards and that his registrations across club and international football are based on official documents.
A Stellar Youth Career
Moukoko’s reputation as one of the brightest young talents in world football has been built on his extraordinary youth career.
He famously netted 141 goals in 88 games during his time in Dortmund’s youth ranks and became the youngest player to feature in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League at just 16.
