West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is optimistic that Michail Antonio will recover and play for the Hammers again.
Antonio was involved in a ghastly road accident in his Ferrari FF near Theydon Bois in Epping just over a week ago, suffering a broken leg and various other injuries.

After the collision, the Jamaican international was rushed to a hospital in London last Saturday, where he underwent emergency surgery.

What Lopetegui said about Michail Antonio’s situation

His West Ham teammates and manager Lopetegui visited the forward in the hospital this week, and the Spanish manager is confident that the 34-year-old attacker will make a full recovery.
“The most important thing is that he’s alive, he’s good, the former Woverhampton boss said, as quoted by Sunsports.
“He broke his femur, but he’s going to recover for sure.
“He’s going to need time. It’s about time.
“Now it’s about time, but the good news is that he has time because when you see the car—it was terrible, the accident—that’s why we are happy.
“Because in the end, despite the fact we are unhappy because we lost one very important player for us, we are happy because he’s going to be ready.
“Now he’s strong, he’s recovered himself in the next month for sure, and he’s going to be ready to be a player.
“The first thing is to be a man and then to be a player.”
If Antonio is to return to the team, a contract extension will be required, as he is not expected to recover before the end of this season.
