Pep Guardiola has admitted his future at Manchester City is uncertain following a dramatic 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the Manchester Derby.
The reigning Premier League champions have now won just one of their last 11 matches, leaving Guardiola under growing pressure despite signing a two-year contract extension earlier this year.
City seemed poised for victory at Old Trafford after taking the lead through a first-half strike, but Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo scored two quick goals late in the game to snatch the win for United.
The defeat marked yet another setback in what has been an uncharacteristically poor run for Guardiola’s side.
Guardiola Admits to Pressure

Speaking candidly to Sky Sports before the derby, Guardiola acknowledged that his job is far from secure if the poor form continues.
“The results dictate that – and this is the reality. We cannot eternally lose games,” Guardiola said. “The owners know when the situation is bad, and we start to lose games, then it is not sustainable. Then I would not be here next month or in the next two months.”
He also made it clear that stepping down is not an option for him:
“The club knows that I will not do it [resign]. The club would have to do it. I want to be close to the players. I want to be beside them.”

Reflecting on City’s Struggles

After the loss, Guardiola once again took full responsibility for City’s slump, emphasizing that he is accountable for the team’s performance.
“We’ve lost a lot of games – more than we have in two seasons,” Guardiola admitted. “I am the one who is responsible for this.”
While City’s fans and hierarchy have previously shown immense faith in the Catalan tactician, the mounting losses and the sharp decline in form raise serious questions about his ability to turn things around.
With their Premier League title defense slipping away and the Champions League campaign hanging in the balance, Guardiola’s tenure at the Etihad is facing its most significant test yet.
