Arsenal set a new record with their 5-1 thrashing of fellow London-based club Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

With Saturday’s win, Mikel Arteta’s side became the first English top-flight team to score five or more goals in six different away games across all competitions in a single calendar year, as per The New York Times. This record follows 6-0 and 5-0 victories against West Ham and Burnley, respectively, in February, before defeating Sheffield United 5-0 at Bramall Lane on March 4.

After a turbulent period during the 2024-25 campaign, in which the Gunners failed to secure a win in four consecutive games across all competitions, they returned to form with a 5-1 hammering of Sporting CP in Lisbon in the Champions League, followed by a 5-2 victory over West Ham, and now their latest triumph against Palace.

The win over Palace saw Arteta’s men maintain third place in the league standings with 33 points, three behind Liverpool at the summit, with two games in hand.
