With his latest contributions, Salah has now tallied 15 goals and 11 assists, becoming the first player in Premier League history to reach double figures for both goals and assists before Christmas.

He also became Liverpool’s fourth all-time leading scorers’ chart, surpassing Billy Liddell after netting for the 229th time in all competitions.

Asked about the record after the game, Salah told Sky Sports, via All Football,

“I didn’t think about it before the game, but I’m glad I have done it, something that makes me proud. I’ll keep working hard,” he told Sky Sports.

“It’s great to achieve [becoming Liverpool’s fourth-leading scorer] at such a big club, but the most important thing is that we won the game. Wherever I am going to end my career, I am happy about it.”

Liverpool will host newly-promoted Leicester City on Boxing Day for their Matchday 18 Premier League encounter and will be confident of taking maximum points, with Salah aiming to further add to his tally this campaign.
