Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold, a lifelong Manchester United fan, has shared his discontent with the club’s poor start to the 2024-25 season.

Known for his passion for the 13-time Premier League champions, Adekunle Gold has been vocal about his support, even modelling for the team and frequently visiting Old Trafford.

A Call for Drastic Changes

According to The Papers, it was revealed in a video making rounds on social media that Adekunle Gold did not hold back his criticism of the squad’s performance.

He suggested that new manager Ruben Amorim sell nearly the entire team, sparing only Noussair Mazraoui and Amad Diallo.

His comments reflect the frustrations of many fans as the club continues to underperform.

Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag, left a successful stint at Sporting CP to take on the challenge of managing Manchester United.

However, his early tenure has been rocky, with the team winning just four out of 11 matches and enduring a four-game losing streak.

Financial Challenges for January Transfers

While fans like Adekunle Gold call for sweeping changes, Amorim faces significant hurdles in the January transfer window.

The Portuguese manager highlighted the club’s financial fair play (FFP) constraints, limiting their ability to overhaul the squad mid-season.

“We don’t have that possibility in January if we don’t take some players [out],” Amorim explained. “You know the situation better than me. It is not that I am arriving here and know I can spend money changing the team.”

Amorim’s focus now is on finding ways to improve results with the resources available.

While selling players might create room for reinforcements, the January market is often challenging, with limited player availability.
