Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has pointed to multiple reasons behind his team’s poor form this season, including injuries to key players like Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.
While he admits his own mistakes, Guardiola highlighted that broader challenges have contributed to the team’s decline.
Managerial Challenges and Responsibility
“Speaking about the current crisis as per The Telegraph, Guardiola admitted there are aspects of his management that have fallen short.
“Many things. The manager isn’t just about formations; it’s many things. There’s something I’m missing, something I’m not doing well,” he said.
The Catalan acknowledged his responsibility to build the team’s confidence, a task he feels he hasn’t achieved during their difficult run. Despite a win against Leicester City, he remains cautious.
“We got the result but no more than that. We know our level. Compared to the last eight years, we are not there. One result doesn’t change my view of the team right now,” Guardiola admitted.
As reported previously by Sports Buddy, Pep Guardiola took full responsibility of City struggles.
Transfer Market Solutions
Manchester City could look to the January transfer market for reinforcements.
They are reportedly interested in Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov, a 20-year-old seen as a long-term prospect who can also compete for a spot in the current squad.
