Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s 17-year-old sensation, is optimistic about extending his stay at Camp Nou, with his current contract expiring in 2026.
Speaking to CNN, the rising star expressed his desire to remain with the club long-term.
“I don’t know when [the contract will be signed], but I believe it’ll be soon,” Yamal said. “Barça is the club of my life. I hope to renew my contract with them and be with them as long as possible.
I want to play for Barça and in the Spanish league. Yes, I will renew my contract.”
Yamal has been in superb form this season, tallying five goals and 10 assists in La Liga, showcasing his value to the Catalan giants.

Yamal emphasized the need for focus to reclaim the league title, particularly against teams they’ve struggled against earlier in the season.
“La Liga will be won against the teams we’ve previously lost to,” he stated. “We’ve shown in key moments that we are the best and will continue to prove it.”
Yamal also praised the influence of coach Hansi Flick, whose tactical adjustments have helped the team adapt and improve.
