Now, the player himself has shared the real reasons behind his decision and they are not what most expected.
Osimhen was once a target for top teams in England and Italy. Clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Juventus were all reportedly interested.
Even a big-money offer from Saudi side Al Hilal was on the table. Still, Osimhen made a different choice. He has now signed a full deal with Galatasaray after spending last season on loan there.
In a recent interview, the striker said it was the love from Galatasaray fans and his daughter’s growing bond with the club that made his mind up. “It made it easier for me,” he said, explaining how both the support and his family pushed him toward staying.
A Record-Breaking Transfer
Galatasaray’s decision to pay €75 million for Osimhen shocked many. No team in Turkey had ever spent more than €30 million on a player before.
But Osimhen’s impact last season made the club believe he was worth it. He scored 37 goals and made eight assists, helping Galatasaray win both the league title and the Turkish Cup.
Though his time at Napoli ended on a rough note after a fallout with coach Antonio Conte, Osimhen seems to have found his place in Istanbul.
