Ademola Lookman’s future remains open as Inter Milan jumps into the race to sign the in-form Atalanta forward.
The Nigerian star, known for his explosive style of play is now being targeted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs in what is turning into a major summer transfer battle.
The 27-year-old has scored 52 goals and created 25 assists in just 118 matches for Atalanta since joining in 2022.
This has made him one of the most wanted attackers in Europe. With two years left on his deal and no interest in extending his stay, Atalanta is now ready to cash in instead of risking a free departure down the line.
Italian news outlet Sportmediaset reports that Inter Milan is now seriously thinking about making a €60 million bid for Lookman. New manager Cristian Chivu reportedly sees him as a perfect fit for the new project being built at the San Siro.
But Inter are not alone. Atletico Madrid, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, has already begun talks with Atalanta.
They are in the market for a sharp replacement for Angel Correa and have the funds to match the €60 million asking price.
Coach Diego Simeone is believed to be a huge fan of Lookman’s pace, energy, and ability to play both wide and central roles, along with his strong pressing and finishing.
Barcelona and Napoli have also kept a close eye on him, with both clubs monitoring his progress for over a year.
