Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly contemplating on a swap deal involving Alejandro Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson, with United manager Ruben Amorim prioritizing a striker with Premier League experience.
Amorim, under pressure to boost United’s lackluster attack after scoring just 42 goals last season, has identified a premier league proven player as his preferred striker target with several reports suggesting Nicholas Jackson.
The 24-year-old Senegalese forward, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances, blending pace and physicality despite criticism for poor finishing.
Chelsea’s recent signings of João Pedro and Liam Delap have sparked a fallout, with Jackson slipping down the pecking order.
Chelsea, on the other end, are targeting United’s 21-year-old Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho, whose relationship with Amorim has deteriorated significantly.
Garnacho, with 26 goals in 144 appearances, has clashed with the manager over playing time and tactics, leading to him training alone in recent months.
His desire to leave has alerted Chelsea, who view his versatility as ideal for their wing rebuild. Both players are valued at approximately £55-60 million, making a swap deal financially sensible and PSR-compliant.
No official bids have been lodged, but discussions are expected to intensify before United’s pre-season tour ends. If completed, the deal could address United’s need for a proven Premier League striker.
