Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo is currently in Nigeria, but fans hoping for a major announcement about his Super Eagles future will be disappointed.

The center-back is not expected to meet with the Nigeria Football Federation or Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle during his stay.

Sources confirmed that Tosin’s trip to Lagos was for personal matters and not related to international football talks.

He was accompanied by his brother and agent, Gbolahan Adarabioyo, as well as their older sibling, Fisayo Adarabioyo, who had a brief connection with Nigeria’s Olympic team in 2014.

Defender Keeps fans guessing on international future

While Tosin is one of several foreign-born players being considered for Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifying squad, his decision on whether to commit to the Super Eagles remains uncertain. The 26-year-old has not shut the door, but he is in no rush to make a final call.

Instead of engaging in football politics, Tosin chose to focus on a cause close to his heart.

He organized the Tosin Adarabioyo Youth Cup in Lagos, bringing together young talents from clubs like 36 Lion FC, Seamoriow Football Academy, Mavilon FC, and a team selected by the Lagos State Football Association.

This visit follows his impressive first season with Chelsea, where he played a key role in their UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup triumphs.

Tosin’s strong performances for the Blues have made him one of the top defenders of Nigerian heritage not yet tied to any senior national team. Will Tosin wear the green and white in 2026? That answer remains locked away, as the defender keeps his cards close to his chest.
