Super Eagles star Victor Boniface has drawn attention with a playful message to Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala, just days after Nigeria’s women’s team won their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.

The team won the 2024 edition after beating host nation Morocco in a thrilling 3–2 final.

Joining the celebration, Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, used the moment to reach out to Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala with a funny request.

Boniface’s Funny Message to Oshoala

After President Bola Tinubu announced allocations of three-bedroom apartments and cash prizes of $100,000 (approximately N153m) to each of the players, Victor Boniface took to Instagram to tag Asisat Oshoala in a photo of her holding her gold medal and wearing the championship shirt.

He joked about getting a share of the prize money. “@asisat_oshoala Hwfa make I drop acct for small tinx,” Boniface wrote, adding a smiling emoji to show he was just teasing.

Not stopping there, Boniface posted another funny comment after Oshoala responded to his first message.

She told him to “beg properly” and even called herself “OON,” referring to the Nigerian national honour recently awarded to her. Boniface replied: “Them for add I for the back. Make you turn Ooni,” continuing the playful exchange.

The Super Falcons were impressive from start to finish at the 2024 WAFCON. They finished the competition unbeaten and only let in three goals in all matches. Their comeback victory against Morocco showed their fighting spirit, and they finished the job in style.

Coach Justin Madugu’s team, made up of experienced players and rising talents like Esther Okoronkwo and Jennifer Echegini, completed what they called “Mission X.” The goal was to bring the title back home, and they did just that.
