RB Leipzig are not stopping at Carney Chukwuemeka. The German side have now turned their focus to Tyrique George, another Chelsea youngster with Nigerian heritage.
After missing out on European football last season, Leipzig are reshaping their squad. The Bundesliga club are in serious talks to sign Chukwuemeka on a permanent deal.
He spent last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund but did not impress.
Now, Leipzig are also showing strong interest in George, a 19-year-old forward who broke into Chelsea’s first team last season. Reports suggest Leipzig want him on loan for the 2025–26 campaign.
Crowded Chelsea Attack Puts Pressure on George
George’s future at Chelsea is unclear. Although he is one of the top prospects from their youth system, the club’s summer signings could reduce his chances of playing.
Chelsea have already signed Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Brazilian rising star Estêvão Willian.
They are also chasing Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons. With so many attacking players coming in, George may struggle for minutes.
Because of this, Chelsea are open to letting him leave on loan to get regular game time. A move to Leipzig could give him the space he needs to grow and develop.
George has played for England at youth level but remains eligible for Nigeria.
