Besiktas have opened talks with Leicester City over a possible move for Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. The Turkish side wants to bring him in before the new Super Lig season begins. With Leicester now in the Championship, the club may be ready to let Ndidi go.
Ndidi, 28, still has two years left on his contract. He joined Leicester in 2017 from Genk in Belgium and has played more than 300 games for the club. He was a key part of Leicester’s FA Cup and Community Shield wins.
Besiktas made their move after selling Gedson Fernandes to Spartak Moscow. They now see Ndidi as the right man to fill that gap in midfield.
Talks Still Ongoing
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared that both clubs are still in talks. So far, no deal has been agreed, and Ndidi’s personal terms are still being discussed.
Besiktas believe they can reach a full agreement soon. The club wants Ndidi in the squad in time for their opening game of the new season.
Ndidi is known for his strong defensive skills and ability to win the ball in midfield. Even as Leicester struggled last season, he stayed consistent and focused.
Other Clubs Also Interested
Ndidi has been on the radar of other big clubs like Manchester United, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund in past seasons. But so far, only Besiktas have made a formal move.
Leicester fans are now waiting to see what happens. Will the Super Eagles star leave or stay and help the team fight for promotion?
His next move could come in the next few days. For now, all eyes are on the talks between Leicester and Besiktas.
