The transfer saga surrounding Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman has taken a fresh twist, with Inter Milan preparing a new bid in an attempt to lure the forward away from Atalanta.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are ready to increase their offer to over €45 million, aiming to match Atalanta’s €50 million valuation of the Nigerian international. The Nerazzurri have reportedly set a 10-day deadline to finalise the deal before the Serie A season begins.
Lookman Demands Exit Amid “Broken Promises”

Lookman, who formally handed in a transfer request last month, claims Atalanta breached an agreement made last summer that would allow him to leave if a big club came knocking.
The 27-year-old, who was instrumental in Atalanta’s Europa League title win, insists the club reneged on its promise after rejecting previous bids from Inter.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi, however, maintains that the agreement only permitted a move outside of Serie A. “We told him last year, after turning down €20 million from PSG, that he could leave in 2025 to a top foreign club. Inter Milan is a different matter entirely,” he said.
Fans Turn on Lookman Amidst Ongoing Tension
Tensions have boiled over among Atalanta supporters, who are unhappy with the ongoing drama. Fans recently hung a banner outside the club’s Zingonia training ground reading: “Enough is enough. Unworthy agents and ungrateful players, respect the fans and those who have supported you.”
Despite the backlash, Lookman remains eager to secure a move and further his career, especially after a stellar season that placed him in strong contention for the CAF Player of the Year award.
