Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho may be on the move again. Mexican side Pumas UNAM has contacted Spanish club Sevilla about signing the Nigerian striker.
This approach comes after weeks of growing interest from the Liga MX side, and now, talks could begin soon.
Iheanacho only joined Sevilla last summer after his Leicester City contract ended. He arrived as a free agent but found it hard to break into the starting team.
He spent most of the first half of the season on the bench behind Isaac Romero, who also failed to deliver consistently.
Struggles in Spain and England

Due to his limited playing time, Iheanacho left for Middlesbrough in the English Championship during the January transfer window. But that move didn’t bring much change.
He played 15 matches, scored just once, and added two assists. His loan spell ended with more questions than answers.
Back at Sevilla, his future looked uncertain. Many believed the club would move him on this summer.
So far, European clubs have shown little interest. But under new coach Matias Almeyda, Iheanacho has seen some action during Sevilla’s pre-season matches.
Sevilla Open to a Sale
Despite featuring in recent friendlies, reports suggest that Sevilla is still open to selling him. The club signed him for free, so any transfer fee would be a gain.
Pumas UNAM is not expected to match his full market value, which stands at around €4.5 million, but Sevilla may accept a lower offer.
The Spanish club is also under pressure to reduce its wage bill to comply with La Liga’s financial rules. Offloading Iheanacho could help them register new players for the coming season.
As it stands, Sevilla has not shut the door on a sale. The player remains a backup option, and a move to Mexico would offer him more playing time.
For Iheanacho, this could be a fresh start after years of struggling for form and minutes.
