Getafe head coach Jose Bordalas has strongly opposed the expected transfer of Nigerian forward Christantus Uche to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League.
The Spanish manager said losing Uche at this stage would hurt the team badly.
Bordalas spoke openly after news broke that the club was close to finalizing a €20 million deal for the player. He said Uche was one of their best performers last season and letting him go now would leave a serious gap.
“I am against Uche leaving, he is a vital player for us, extremely important,” Bordalas told reporters.
“Every season we cannot start from scratch. If he leaves, we’ll have a huge, serious problem. We cannot be at the mercy of this.”
Financial Pressures Force The Move

Despite the coach’s objections, Getafe is dealing with major financial strain. The club has been unable to register some players because of strict league rules.
Reports suggest the transfer fee from Uche’s sale will help them meet requirements and bring in new signings.
Even with this benefit, Bordalas believes the move puts the team at risk. He said the club cannot keep starting fresh every season by losing key men.
Uche Set For A Big Career Leap
For Uche, the deal could be a turning point. Playing in the Premier League would put him on a bigger stage and give him the chance to face top-level competition.
It also comes with a huge pay rise. He currently earns about €90,000 a year at Getafe, but his new contract is expected to multiply that figure.
Despite his love for Getafe, Uche is ready for the move.
He even played against Sevilla on Monday, showing his commitment until the last minute. Once the transfer is sealed, he will link up with Wolves and begin a new chapter in his career.
The final confirmation of the deal is expected soon. Fans of both clubs are waiting to see how the move unfolds and how Getafe will respond to losing such a vital player.
Bordalas will now face the challenge of reshaping his squad as Uche prepares to step onto the Premier League stage.
