According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich director has confirmed that Nicolas Jackson will return to Chelsea after the Blues blocked his proposed loan move. The decision came after Chelsea striker Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury during the club’s 2-0 win over Fulham.
Jackson, 24, had already travelled to Germany to finalize the switch, but Chelsea requested his immediate return once it became clear that Delap could be sidelined for up to eight weeks.
Chelsea’s Striker Shortage Deepens
The injury leaves Chelsea dangerously short of attacking options. With Christopher Nkunku sold to AC Milan and Cole Palmer struggling with a groin problem, only João Pedro and youngster Tyrique George remain as fit forwards.
Jackson, who netted 17 goals last season, is now set for an extended run in Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup. The Senegalese striker is expected to lead the line in upcoming Premier League clashes against Brentford and Arsenal.
