Fifteen minutes after the final whistle, the pitch at Old Trafford was rendered unplayable due to heavy rain and storms.
A strong thunderstorm flooded the 114-year-old stadium as United lost 1-0 to Arsenal, who continued to pursue Manchester City for the crown.
One of the videos shared on X appeared to show a flood spilling under seats and even where the players’ tunnel joins the changing rooms, with water visibly gushing from one part of the field.

The downpour occurred on the same day that Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party and an avid Arsenal season ticket holder, paid a visit to Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham. Burnham had already met with Lord Coe and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the minority owner of United, to discuss the future of Old Trafford.
