Super Eagles-eligible star George Ilenikhena, has etched his name in Champions League history following his goal against Barcelona on Thursday.

Ilenikhena was introduced in the 59th minute in the game, making his mark barely 12 minutes after coming off the bench to score the winning goal as Monaco emerged 2-1 winners over the Catalan giants.

The 18-year-old forward raced on to a long ball from Vanderson over the top of the defense in the 71st minute and blasted his shot past Marc-Andre ter Stegen, to score his first goal for the club.

With the goal, the Nigerian-born star became the youngest player (18 years and 34 days old) in the club’s history to score in the UCL, surpassing Kylian Mbappe’s record (918 years and 63 days old).

Ilenikhena, who moved to the French side this summer, is beginning to develop the habit of delivering brutal blows to  Barcelona, having scored a last-minute winner in Royal Antwerp’s 3-2 win against the Spanish powerhouses in the competition the previous season.
