Osayi Samuel and Fenerbahçe fail to reach agreement over new contract

The 26-year-old player, who is paid 1.8 million euros a year, has informed the management that he is seeking a pay increase of about 40% to 2.5 million euros in exchange for a new contract, as per Fanatik.
While Osayi Samuel also wants a four-year deal in addition to the raise, the defender’s demand was deemed high by Fenerbahçe, who decided to postpone negotiations as they intend to pay not more than two million euros.
Although the club does not want to lose one of their most reliable players, failure to reach a consensus before his contract expiration would see the 26-year-old leave on a free transfer.
The Nigerian right-back, who has been showing a stable performance for the Turkish giants since he joined Fernache in 2020-21, has attracted interests from several clubs, including Championship side Norwich and French club Lens, who are planning to take advantage of the situation to land the Nigerian for free at the end of the season.
Both clubs will present an offer to Osayi, who is undecided about renewing his contract, as they wait to monitor his situation closely.
