Victor Ikpeba has called for Libya to be banned from international football over the inhumane treatment they inflicted on the Super Eagles.
The Nigerian team has been stranded at Al Abaq Airport since their arrival in Libya on Sunday for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Mediterranean Knights.
Captain William Troost-Ekong, on behalf of the players, has stated that they are prepared to boycott the match.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has already lodged a formal protest with the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Victor Ikpeba Said Libya Should Be Bannned
Victor Ikpeba emphasized that Libya’s actions are unacceptable and that they should face a ban for their barbaric behaviour.
“If CAF know their job, Libya ought to be banned from international football,” Ikpeba, who is part of the Nigerian delegation in Libya for the AFCON qualifier.
“CAF are not mindful of the safety and wellbeing of players across Africa.
“This is a high-risk country and one really wonders who approved for Libya to be playing their games at home.
“I played for the Super Eagles for 10 years and I never experienced what I have in Libya in the last hours.”
