Mohammed Kudus’ unsportsmanlike behavior piled on West Ham United’s troubles after their Saturday 4-1 hammering at the hands of Tottenham.

West Ham started well; they looked competitive. Spurs’ goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario meanwhile made a superb save from Kudus, and Brennan Johnson was just centimeters away from an early volley for Spurs.

Kudus capitalized on his early pressure, bundling home Jarrod Bowen’s low cross to give West Ham the lead after 18 minutes.

West Ham took the lead, but Tottenham’s relentless attack was too much for them to hold off.

Spurs’ Johnson, in fine form, missed a close range chance before Alphonse Areola denied Pedro Porro’s deflected shot.

But there was nothing Areola could do about Dejan Kulusevski’s low drive from the edge of the box after Yves Bissouma’s equalizer leveled it at 1-1.

Spurs grew more confident and nearly took the lead before the break when Porro’s acrobatic volley went over the crossbar.

Tottenham then sealed their dominance with an own goal by Jean-Clair Todibo and a 60th minute strike from Son Heung-min, making it 4-1.

Unsportmanlike Incident: Mohammed Kudus Sent Off

Tensions flared in the 85th minute as the game wound down when Kudus clashed with Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven.

Kudus then kicked van de Ven twice after losing a battle for the ball and after a confrontation slapped him in the face.

The decision was upgraded to a red after a VAR review, with referee Andrew Madley initially showing him a yellow card.

The sending-off means Kudus could face a three-game suspension, depending on whether further sanctions are applied.
