Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for a spell on the sidelines following a challenging start to the campaign marred by injuries across top clubs.

The England international suffered a hamstring strain in Liverpool’s recent clash with Aston Villa but avoided more severe damage by coming off early, according to The Times journalist Paul Joyce.

He’s expected to miss a couple of weeks, though he could be available for Liverpool’s November 24 match against Southampton, as well as key fixtures against Real Madrid on November 27 and Manchester City on December 1.

Liverpool currently top the table under Arne Slot, sitting at 28 points, and will be hoping for Alexander-Arnold’s swift recovery as they aim to halt Manchester City’s league dominance.

Alexander-Arnold’s presence is vital to Liverpool’s defensive stability and offensive creativity, and his potential return against Southampton would be a welcome boost for Liverpool’s challenging fixtures ahead.
