Victor Osimhen continued his stellar form for Galatasaray, scoring in a thrilling 3-2 win against Sivasspor at the Sivas 4 Eylul Stadium.

The match was marked by early drama and a crucial penalty from Osimhen that proved pivotal for his team.

The game took an early turn for Galatasaray when Metehan Baltacı was sent off in the 15th minute following a VAR review that overturned the referee’s initial yellow card.

 

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Sivasspor capitalized on the numerical advantage, with Garry Rodrigues putting them in the lead in the 25th minute.

 

However, Galatasaray quickly responded, and just 11 minutes later, Yunus Akgün leveled the score at 1-1 with a precise shot.

The turning point came just before the break when Osimhen was fouled in the penalty box, earning a spot-kick for his side.

 

The Nigerian forward stepped up and converted with confidence to give Galatasaray a 2-1 lead.

 

According to Opta, Osimhen became the first Galatasaray player to score or assist in eight of his first nine Super League appearances since the 2014/15 season.

 

Second Half Drama and Osimhen’s Substitution

 

In the second half, Barış Yılmaz extended the lead to 3-1 in the 53rd minute, following a brilliant pass from Akgün.

 

However, Osimhen was substituted in the 74th minute for Victor Nelsson, ending his involvement in the match. Despite Sivasspor pulling one back in stoppage time through Bekir Böke, Galatasaray held on for the win.

 

With this goal, Osimhen reached his tenth goal of the season, taking his total contributions to 15 goals and 5 assists in just 13 appearances.
