‘The Oscar goes to’ – Hojlund destroys Walker with salvage poem after City captain’s theatrics in Manchester Derby

Hojlund, Walker

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has mocked Kyle Walker for his ’embarrassing’ play-acting during the Red Devils’ encounter against local rivals Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday evening.

A heated altercation ensued between the two players during the first half of the Manchester Derby, where Walker and Hojlund squared up after the England international’s tackle on the 21-year-old.

The Danish international, visibly furious with the challenge, charged toward the Manchester City captain, clashing with him forehead to forehead.

After a few seconds of locking heads, Walker threw himself to the ground, holding his face despite minimal contact, as Hojlund watched in shock.

Referee Antony Taylor stepped in, issuing yellow cards to both players, but it was the Dane who had the last laugh as his team fought back from a goal down to secure a dramatic 2-1 comeback win against their neighbours, courtesy of Amad Diallo’s late heroics.

Hojlund’s savage poem to Walker

After the win, Hojlund did not hold back, mocking Walker by sharing a picture of the incident showing himself and the 32-year-old defender clashing heads.

Alongside the post, shared by Public Sport on X, he wrote,

“Manchester is red. Violets are blue. What a brilliant performance. But the Oscar goes to…”

The Danish striker has been ruthless lately, not just on social media but also on the pitch. He came off the bench to score a brace against Viktoria Plzen, helping United to a 2-1 Europa League win on Thursday, before earning a starting spot in Sunday’s 2-1 victory against Manchester City.
