After months of back-and-forth talks, Victor Osimhen’s future has finally been settled. But the deal comes with an unexpected twist that has taken fans by surprise.

Napoli have accepted a €75 million offer from Turkish champions Galatasaray for the Nigerian striker. The agreement marks the end of a long and complicated transfer saga. Galatasaray will pay €40 million upfront while the remaining €35 million will be paid before the end of 2026.

However, the most shocking part of the deal is a clause quietly added by Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis. This clause blocks Osimhen from returning to any Serie A team for the next two years.

If Galatasaray attempt to sell him to an Italian club before 2027, they would be forced to pay double the original transfer fee.

For example, if Galatasaray sell Victor Osimhen to AC Milan (a Serie A club) before 2027, they will be forced to pay another transfer fee.

Since the agreed fee is €75 million, this clause means Galatasaray would owe Napoli €150 million.

So, if Osimhen joins AC Milan or any other Italian club before 2027, Galatasaray will pay a €150 million penalty to Napoli under the terms of the “anti-Italy” clause.

This move appears to be a calculated decision by Napoli, who seem determined to make sure Osimhen never plays for a domestic rival. The 26-year-old was one of the key players behind Napoli’s famous title win in 2023.

But after that triumph, things took a different turn. Interest from top European clubs sparked tension between the player and management. The once-loved forward slowly fell out of favour.
