The Confederation of African Football has announced the Best Eleven for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria came out on top once again with four players making the final team.
The Super Falcons showed strength all through the tournament, ending with a thrilling 3-2 win over hosts Morocco in the final.
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Ndozie earned her spot after strong performances in goal. Defender Michelle Alozie, forward Esther Okoronkwo, and top scorer Rasheedat Ajibade were also named. Nigeria’s coach, Justin Madugu, was picked as Coach of the Tournament.
Big Names from Across Africa
The team was arranged in a 4-3-3 style and included top stars from other countries. Morocco’s captain Ghizlane Chebbak and striker Ibtissam Jraidi both made the team after helping their side reach another final.
Ghana’s Portia Boakye and Grace Asantewaa got spots for their steady play. South Africa also had strong showings from Karabo Dlamini, Refiloe Jane, and Bambanani Mbane.
A list of substitutes was also named. It included big names like Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji from Zambia, Senegal’s Nguenar Ndiaye, and Nigeria’s Osinachi Ohale and Jennifer Echegini.
This year’s tournament saw more attacking football, with 66 goals scored in 26 matches—more than the previous edition. Most teams used a 4-3-3 formation throughout the event.
