A transfer battle is heating up in England as Wolverhampton Wanderers have offered €20 million for Nigerian forward Christantus Uche.
The Premier League side has started talks with Spanish club Getafe and the player’s representatives as the summer transfer window nears its end.
Sources close to the deal say Wolves are eager to sign a striker who can deliver goals this season.
Football insider Fabrizio Romano revealed through journalist Liam Keen that talks are ongoing and could progress quickly.

Getafe Struggling with Squad Registration
Getafe may be forced to consider the offer despite their reluctance to lose Uche.
Reports from Spain say the club faces financial pressure under La Liga spending rules and has not been able to register most of their new signings. Only three of nine arrivals are currently cleared to play.
Selling Uche could solve part of this issue. The Nigerian attacker, only 22, has a release clause of €25 million, and his market value has risen sharply after strong performances last season.
Getafe signed him for about €500,000, making a sale at this stage a huge return on investment.
Everton and Rivals Still in the Race
Everton are also showing serious interest and could go as high as €30 million to land the forward.
Brentford, Leeds United, and Real Sociedad are keeping a close eye on developments, but Wolves are the first to make a formal bid.
According to Spanish reports, club president Ángel Torres admitted that Getafe might have no choice but to consider offers. However, he would still prefer to keep Uche for another season.
Wolves’ opening bid is below the release clause, but sources believe the English club will return with a higher offer. Negotiations are expected to continue this week, with Everton and others ready to pounce if talks stall.
