Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has addressed situations surrounding his relationship with 29-year-old midfielder Joshua Kimmich.
Tuchel and Kimmich’s relationship has deteriorated in recent times, with reports claiming the tension started brewing up when Bayern were linked with bringing in a new number six.
Kimmich’s fallout with assistant coach
Kimmich, who did not start in their 3-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen and was also subbed off after 63 minutes against Bochum, was reportedly held back by his teammates in an altercation with assistant coach Zsolt Low.
Tuchel, addressing talks surrounding the situation, said, “Josh is an extremely important player, a leader. I think Josh hasn’t been in top form in the last few games either,” Fabrizio Romano posted on his page on X.

Also speaking on the club’s recent poor results, the German manager said, “I’m disappointed in myself and in how we’re playing at the moment. But I’m not disappointed in the players.
“We are unhappy with the way we’re playing and with the three recent defeats.
“If the coach was the only one to blame I wouldn’t be sitting here today. But I take responsibility.
“The development of our game, the results, are not there as I imagine”.
