The Danish international has been in exceptional form in 2024, netting seven goals from six appearances for the Red Devils before sustaining an injury recently.
During his prolific spell, Hojlund sat down for an interview with ‘The United Stand,’ discussing topics ranging from his goalscoring form to his experiences living in Manchester.
Hojlund has hit impressive form in the Premier League for Man United, scoring in six consecutive matches to help the Red Devils.
Hojlund has scored in other competitions, with the striker having now scored 13 goals in 30 appearances in his debut season at the club.
While some may have appreciated gaining insight into the mindset of United’s No. 11, reports suggest that his teammates have raised questions about his decision to do the interview.
Rumoured teammates reaction to Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund has allegedly been approached by his Manchester United teammates regarding his recent interview with a YouTube fan channel, which was described as “negative and critical” towards them.
This development has sparked an uncomfortable debate among fans, with some speculating that jealousy among the players may be a factor.
Rasmus Hojlund’s decision to engage in an interview with a Manchester United YouTube fan channel has reportedly been questioned by his teammates.
According to the United We Stand magazine, a couple of United players approached Højlund regarding his decision to grant an interview to a channel that “was built on negativity and criticizing United players.”
The United Stand has faced criticism from figures associated with the club, including former Red Devil Paul Parker, who once claimed the channel is ‘causing problems’ at United.
In response, Mark Goldbridge, who runs The United Stand, defended the channel and suggested that the criticisms are rooted in ‘jealousy.’ On X (formerly Twitter), Goldbridge wrote: ‘Jealousy always seems to burn brightest on a Sunday lol! So, that interview took months to put together.
Everyone in the club was aware; the player and others were doing media on a training day at Carrington, we were there all morning. If anyone wanted to stop it, they could have.’
Back in October, Paul Parker expressed his disapproval of Goldbridge, stating, ‘I don’t like what Mark Goldbridge is doing.
It’s a problem. Everyone has to make a living, but you have to be very, very thick-skinned to make money off the back of something you don’t like.’
Parker further criticized Goldbridge, saying, ‘He is attacking the club, the manager, and the owners of a football club that he doesn’t even love.
He has no inner feeling with the club, and it’s a scary but incredible feeling to have to be that invested in a club that you don’t support.’
Parker emphasized the unique connection fans have with a club, stating, ‘But that’s also what Man United are about. It’s a club with a massive story, and it’s a story that everyone tries to tap into and be a part of.’
He expressed concern over individuals making money without a genuine passion for football or the club, saying, ‘A lot of people are making money because of Man United, but it’s madness. One, they don’t support Man United, and to be honest, two, they don’t even like football.
But it’s a club that everyone wants to talk about, and somehow it’s possible to make money from it despite not having a relationship with the club.’
