A breach of contract case was filed against David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, by the Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited.
The parties have agreed to settle the matter out of court after former NFF president Amaju Pinnick accused the popular Afrobeat star of a breach of contract.
Amaju Pinnick sues Davido
In October 2023, Amaju Pinnick, former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), criticized the musician for failing to perform as promised at an event in Warri, Delta State, despite receiving a payment of $94,600. The lawsuit was filed in Effurun’s Delta State High Court with case number EHC/183/2023, seeking damages of N2.3 billion.

Although the Afrobeat singer received the agreed-upon payments, he was accused of breaching the contract by not participating in the 19th edition of the “Warri Again” concert.
Apart from requesting N150 million for professional and legal fees, the claimant sought an additional N30 million to cover the expenses incurred in filing the lawsuit against Davido. Pinnick also stated that additional fees of $18,000 were spent to arrange for the singer’s transportation to Warri on a chartered plane.
Mutual agreement reached
Despite the allegations and legal action, both parties reached a mutual agreement to resolve the dispute outside of court.
Subsequently, the Delta State High Court granted their request on Thursday, as reported by Legit.
