Declan Rice has expressed his determination to have a conversation with his Arsenal teammate, Ben White, to encourage him to reconsider his decision on England snub

The Arsenal midfielder, who is set to lead England at Wembley against Belgium, acknowledged his intention to approach White upon returning to their club. White, a defender for the Gunners, stirred controversy by making himself unavailable for selection by England manager Gareth Southgate for the consecutive friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.

But Rice speaking to BBC believes he can change White’s mind. He said, “Obviously, Ben, if you know him as a person and as a player like I do, he’s such a good guy. He’s such a good guy and he’s an unbelievable footballer.

“Gareth, dealt with it this week, spoke about it. We’ve obviously not been going into the training grounds, so I haven’t spoken to Ben on a one-to-one level about it.”

Rice promising to talk to his fellow teammate hopes he changes his mind.

“When I go back and I’ll speak to him and see, but hopefully he does change his mind on that. Because having a player like that, in the squad who’s performing well in the Premier League it’d be a great addition to the squad.”, he said.
