This article reveals the recently updated 2024 list of the highest earning players in Europe and their monthly salaries.
Kylian Mbappe, the 25-year-old French and PSG star, commands a salary that surpasses all other players in Europe, according to a recent report.
Since his arrival in Paris at 18, Mbappe has excelled, yet he notified the club in February of his intention to depart when his contract concludes this summer.
The saga surrounding his future intensified in 2022, when he nearly joined Real Madrid, only to extend his tenure with PSG.
L’Equipe’s latest report reveals Mbappe’s monthly earnings of €6 million (£5.15 million), making him Europe’s highest-paid player, more than doubling the salary of the second-highest earner, Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane.
According to the report, Harry Kane earns €2.10 million (£1.80 million) per month, making him the highest-paid player in the Bundesliga.
He narrowly edges out Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, who earns €2.02 million (£1.73 million) every four weeks, in the top 10 earners list.
De Bruyne’s City teammate Erling Haaland also features in the top 10, with a monthly salary of €1.90 million (£1.63 million). However, sources indicate that while Haaland’s basic salary aligns with that of other highest earning players at Manchester City, a series of substantial bonuses guarantee his weekly wage exceeds £850,000.
Erling Haaland’s earnings are estimated to approach the £3.4 million per month mark, positioning him as the second-highest earner on the list.
Real Madrid star David Alaba occupies the fifth spot with a monthly salary of €1.88 million (£1.61 million).
Robert Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah rank sixth and seventh, respectively, earning €1.87 million (£1.60m) and €1.77 million (£1.52m). Two Manchester United players feature in the top 10, rounding out the Premier League’s top earners.
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro matches Mohamed Salah of Liverpool salary at €1.77 million (£1.52m), while Raphael Varane earns €1.72 million (£1.48m).
Tying for the 10th spot on L’Equipe’s list are Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham, Barcelona’s Ilkay Gundogan, and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, each reportedly earning €1.67 million (£1.43m) per month
