In the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-final tie against Mexican opposition, Lionel Messi was absent from play. Nevertheless, following Monterrey’s 2-1 victory at Chase Stadium, Messi, alongside Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Tata Martino, was involved in a confrontation with opposition players and coaches.

Messi and the other individuals reportedly confronted the match officials regarding several crucial decisions. They also directed words towards Monterrey boss Fernando Ortiz.
