The Gunners settled for a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich. Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard contributed goals for Arsenal, but it wasn’t sufficient to surpass the efforts of Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane for Bayern Munich.
The team reaffirmed its position that any member or season ticket holder found to be selling tickets to away fans will be suspended.
Reports claim Bayern Munich had been allocated 180 tickets for a group of friends and family, which included 20 senior club officials seated in the directors’ box.
Fans upset over alleged infiltration
However, fans expressed their displeasure via tweets, claiming that supporters of Bayern Munich had infiltrated the East Stand.
”Really upset being next to a load of Bayern fans in the East Stand. Unsure what kind of an Arsenal fan sells his ticket to a Bayern fan, it made the atmosphere angry and distracted the fans from the task at hand,” one supporter said.
Another wrote,”Was disappointed (yet unsurprised) to see so many Bayern fans in the Upper East Stand. An area of the ground which always seems to be invaded with touts. Arsenal need to do more about this, an ongoing issue.”
Arsenal fume after late penalty denial
The game ended on a chaotic note as the Gunners made penalty claims, few seconds to the end of the game, when Saka went down in the box following a challenge from Manuel Neuer.
