West Ham Youngster George Earthy Suffers Injury on Premier League Debut
West Ham United midfielder George Earthy’s Premier League debut took a frightening turn after a collision with teammate Edson Alvarez.
Early Debut Cut Short by Injury
Earthy, who entered the match in the 82nd minute for Michail Antonio, had his debut cut short just three minutes later. A head-on collision with Alvarez resulted in a worrying scene on the pitch. Earthy fell to the ground, his head hitting the floor, and required medical attention.
The West Ham medical team rushed to George Earthy’s side, administering oxygen as he received treatment for several minutes. The seriousness of the situation was evident as Fulham manager Marco Silva even entered the pitch to check on the young player.
Stretchered Off, Replaced by Cornet
After eight minutes of on-field medical attention, Earthy was stretchered off the pitch and replaced by Maxwel Cornet. The 19-year-old had only recently made his first-team appearance for West Ham, playing the final four minutes of their Europa League victory over Freiburg last month.
Well Wishes Pour In
West Ham’s official account offered their support to Earthy on social media, stating, “George Earthy receives a head injury and is stretchered off the pitch. We’re all behind you, George ❤️”. Fulham echoed the sentiment, posting, “Hoping this is nothing too serious. Speedy recovery, George! “.
