Erling Haaland Takes Troll to New Level with Treble Doc Billboard Advertisement
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland seems to be taking trolling to a whole new level, with a billboard advertisement that casts a shadow over not only Manchester United’s current squad but also their legendary past.

Clash of the Titans: Haaland vs. United’s Treble Winners
As a Prime Video documentary series premieres today chronicling Manchester United’s iconic 1999 Treble win, fans heading to the venue will be greeted by an unexpected sight – a giant billboard featuring none other than Erling Haaland.
The advertisement isn’t promoting Manchester City or football; it’s promoting Haaland’s involvement in the mobile strategy game Clash of Clans. The tagline reads: “He stole your trophies. Steal his gold.” This is a clear reference to Haaland’s dominance in the Premier League and a playful jab at United’s past glories.

The 23-year-old Norwegian is a known fan of Clash of Clans, and players can now fight alongside him or against him as the Barbarian King.
Prime Video Documentary Hopes to Shine Despite Haaland’s Ad
While the advert might raise eyebrows, Amazon is surely hoping it won’t overshadow their three-part documentary series. A trailer released last month showcases interviews with key figures from the Treble-winning team, including Sir Alex Ferguson and his assistant Steve McClaren.

Players like David Beckham, Paul Scholes, the Neville brothers, Peter Schmeichel, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham, Nicky Butt, Andy Cole, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will all be featured, with each episode dedicated to the stories behind the three trophies – the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.
Ventureland, the production company behind the Netflix series on David Beckham, is bringing the documentary to life, with Oscar-winning producer John Battsek and director Sampson Collins at the helm.
Haaland’s presence on the billboard might be a cheeky reminder of Manchester City’s recent success, but the Prime Video documentary promises a nostalgic and in-depth look at a truly historic season for Manchester United.
