Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has sent a strong message to the club amidst sack speculations.

Manchester United’s disappointing 2023-2024 season

Manchester United’s 2023-2024 campaign has been far from stellar under Ten Hag’s leadership. The Red Devils currently sit in eighth place on the league table, out of European position, following a demoralizing 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last time out.

An early exit from the  UEFA Champions League and a humiliating 3-0 loss to Newcastle on home soil, leading to their elimination from the Carabao Cup, is a testament to their poor season.

Despite making the FA Cup final, there have been speculations of an imminent dismisal of the Dutch manager, with reports claiming the new owners are in search of his successor.

Sports Buddy previously reported that Manchester United owners have drafted out a 9-man manager shortlist plan to replace Erik Ten Hag.

Erik Ten Hag defiant regarding potential sack amid the possibility of  FA Cup victory

Ten Hag, in an interview, was questioned if he thinks he would be sacked even if he won the FA Cup, making reference to a similar situation in the past that saw former manager Louis van Gaal sacked by the club despite winning the FA Cup.

”Man United sacked Van Gaal after winning FA Cup… are you worried?” asked the reporter.

“No, I think they have commonsense,” Ten Hag responded, as per Fabrizio on X.

“They have seen you have 32 different backlines, when you lose eight CBs, when we see we don’t have a LB, they know that will have a negative impact,” he added.

Manchester United welcome title contenders Arsenal this Saturday, looking to put their recent setback behind them as they aim to push for a European spot with three games left to play.
